Our Story

Emmalines Country Kitchen was born in an Adelaide Hills kitchen in 1996 when Andrew & Susan Horwood
saw a gap in the market for fresh, homestyle baked products.
After selling out an initial run of Nutloaves in just one day, the pair spent the next few years outgrowing a number of premises before continued success forced them to a much larger location in the Heritage Listed Onkaparinga Woollen Mills.
(our original bakery in Nairne, in 1998)
(some of our original packaging, you can see they didn't even require Nutritional Panels and were hand written!)
(our new packaging is designed by Karin Seja and her team at KSD and has proved to be extremely beneficial to our brand's growth)
Today, Emmalines is housed in the historic Woollen Mills in Lobethal, where its team of around 60 staff work to produce over 90 hand made products ranging from iced bar cakes to chocolates, muffins and fruit loaves.
We have held HACCP certification since 2006 and Woolworths Quality Assurance since 2010.
Our products are found in over 1500 outlets in Australia, ranging from large chain stores to small fruit and vegetable shops, gourmet stalls and coffee shops.
Andrew & Susan believe that using real ingredients like butter (not margarine), eggs (not egg powder), as well as fresh fruit and vegetables, is the reason why people have continued to come back to Emmaline's time and time again.
Our bar cakes and biscuits use no premixes and use all fresh ingredients where possible. Our goal is to provide products that have the same quality as if they were made in your very own kitchen.
A family run business, Andrew, Susan & Simon welcome you to our brand, please look around and let us know if you have any questions.
With Thanks :)
